Like Zach Kotecki said yesterday, school is upon us. Personally, I have a super busy semester ahead of me. With this being my final year of college, I have had to take some later classes which gets in the way of my work schedule. Because of that, I have to take shifts wherever I can get them which is leading to me having little-to-no free time on most days. For most people they would take this to mean that their goals have to take a back seat. Since they are in school they would feel like they are technically working towards a goal anyways. While that is true, there are so many more goals out there that need to be achieved; that can be achieved, if we just put that extra time in.
It’s the summer so I’ve become accustomed to rolling out of bed anywhere between 8 and 10. Last semester I was up everyday by 5 simply because it was the only time that I had to get anything done for myself. Since my classes don’t generally start until 9 this semester, I will have to implement the same thing if i want to get closer to my goals. These range everywhere from fitness goals, personal things and team oriented things here at IVB. To a lot of people it may feel as though I’m spreading myself to thin but that’s just how I operate best. When I have a few things going on I tend to procrastinate and put them off. However, when you overload me I know that I need to get it done as quickly as possible or else I’ll fall too far behind. While this method doesn’t work for everyone, it’s where I thrive.
Not everyone is as busy as I am but that just means that there’s no excuses for you to not be chasing after your dreams. If that means sacrificing a few hours of sleep a night, then so be it. If you can’t bring yourself to make that sacrifice then maybe you need to reevaluate what you really want because you may not want it bad enough. Take it from me and the entire team, you have time to reach your goals, you just have to put the effort in!
