What truly separates someone from being average or being great? Is it their natural talent? Is it the amount of work they’ve put in? Or is it something as simple as consistency? More often than not the champions of the world have one thing in common. That one thing is that they DO NOT MISS. Michael Phelps, the greatest swimmer of all time, went 5 years without missing a day of training. There is a reason he, along with many other great athletes, are on another level. They’ve mastered their craft through repetition on repetition. There is something to be said about a person who is consistently grinding day in and day out.
Throughout my 4 years of training, the main contributing factor to the success that I have had in this game thus far is the simple fact that I am very consistent with my training and diet. I don’t train all day and I don’t meal prep all of my meals. I just simply put in the work 6-7 days out of the week and eat clean the majority of the time. I’m nothing special, I just don’t miss.
We all get it, it’s hard to get started and even harder to keep going. That’s why it’s adamant that once you start, don’t stop. Set a date on the calendar, write some goals down and attack those goals with full force on a daily basis. Some days will be better than others but that’s just how it goes. But all that matters is that you deposit that daily coin.
Whatever it is that you want, go get it. Be consistent and you will reach your goals. Make progress daily and just remember, if you aren’t getting better, you’re getting worse.
